Ted Bonnitt is a host, director, and producer whose work spans radio, documentary film, and immersive audio drama. He co-hosts the comedy and interview show and podcast “Phil and Ted’s Sexy Boomer Show” with Firesign Theatre’s Phil Proctor, heard on KPFK Radio in Los Angeles.

As Technical Director, Editor, Sound Designer, and Producer on “Hindsight – The Day Before”— a 2025 Ambie nominee for Best Production — Ted designs 3D sound recording and production methods that blend audio drama with cinema-quality immersive sound. He has also directed “Audie” Award-winning audiobooks for Penguin Random House and Simon & Schuster.

He directed the documentary “Mau Mau Sex Sex,” which screened at festivals worldwide and in theaters in 20 major U.S. cities, and aired internationally on TV; a remastered version is set for release in 2026.

Ted’s broadcast journalism career includes producing newscasts for the NBC and Mutual Radio Networks, the Peabody Award-winning NPR program “Heat,” and CNN-TV’s Washington and New York bureaus. He hosted a live comedy improv radio show for 10 years on New York’s WBAI-FM before moving to Hollywood, where he created hundreds of radio advertising campaigns for major films, TV series, and blue-chip companies.

He co-founded the internationally syndicated “World Space Report,” interviewing moon-walking astronauts among hundreds of subjects. Drawing on decades of field research and witness interviews in global UFO hot spots, he is currently in production on a new series, “Out There With Ted.”
